The OnleiheVerbundHessen - Borrow digital media around the clock

The OnleiheVerbundHessen is a service offered by Hessian public libraries. It is an online library where you can borrow digital media for children and adults such as eBooks, epapers, eAudio and other digital media.

On February 11, 2026, the Onleihe Hessen will switch to a new version. Read here how you can prepare for the change.

This means you can browse through the online library at home, download your selection and use the media on your PC, smartphone, tablet or e-book reader (preferably Tolino) - seven days a week, around the clock.

How can you use the Onleihe?
To use the service, you need a PC or mobile device with internet access and a valid library card.

The Onleihe is available in the browser or as an app available. This can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Click on the "Media account/ Login" button to access the login screen, where you first select "Stadtbücherei Hofheim am Taunus ". Log in there using the number on your library card and your personal password.

Good to know:
There are no reminder fees with the eLibrary: once the loan period has expired, the file can no longer be opened. The "return" takes place automatically, so to speak.

The e-book reader "Kindle" is not compatible with the Onleihe Hessen.
